The Ultimate Guide to Goal Setting
A goal is a target that we set out to achieve. Some people have higher goals than others. Setting goals and sticking to your plan of action is difficult. How many people do you know try to loose weight or stop smoking and run into pitfalls? Some pitfalls are caused from lack of adherence and not having clear goals. It is easy to get distracted by other things. A lot of people get overwhelmed by the amount of effort it takes to achieve the goal and slowly give up. A common pitfall of going to the gym as a New Years Resolution is forcing yourself instead of wanting to go. If you are not 100% committed to your goal, you have a bigger chance of failing.
Developing a blueprint is an excellent way to layout your set of goals. Sit down and think about all of the goals you would like to achieve and how you plan to achieve them. Having the desire to achieve your goal is the best way to start your plan of action. Make a list of your goals. Once you see them on paper, they become absolute. Determine if there are any roadblocks in your way of reaching your goal and how or if you can eliminate them. Evaluate how long you will realistically need to achieve the goal. Be persistent on reaching your goal and do not give up. Picture the goal in your mind as already accomplished. Last, have a positive mental outlook.
Use these steps as a reference for achieving your goals. Bookmark them on your computer or write them down in your notebook. Keep checking on your progress to keep yourself on the right path. It is a great tool for long or short term goals. Creating a blueprint will help you get past your roadblocks and accomplish your goals through an organized process creating success.
